Photographed and designed by myself, #Access is an metaphorical exploration of "accessibility" through a walk on Baker Beach, San Francisco. Influenced by social media design, where imagery, short description, and #hastags explain daily happenings, I wanted to create an visual journey of different forms of "inaccessibility."
Some of my questioning came from beyond my own disability and more about my class / status within the American society. For example, how interesting that a public beach access is covered in private fencing.
Having an able body, we almost never take in perspective how easy it is for us to simply enter / leave when we desire. Its a symbolism of having complete freedom of where we can take our own body.
