We were tasked to deconstruct a musuem brand part of a de-branding class taught by Chris Hamamoto and Federico Perez Villoro. I was given the Walker Expanded brand, and became instantly interested in specific patterns that appeared on some of the museums materials, specifically post cards and newsletters. The patterns are part of a coded type system the creative staff, then under curator and designer Andrew Blauvelt, used as a short cut. I decided to create my own pattern language, in which the pattern themselves became rescanned and destroyed to represent a letter of the coded system (only A-R used).
